With more than 10 years of teaching in the field of agriculture and forestry, and the full-time studying in Australia as well as the participation in short and long-term professional activities in many different countries, especially the invaluable experience as joining in The Women in Leadership Journey has been supportive to my professional development and building my STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) gender and education networks. Thanks to the Journey, I have become so much more aware that nurturing and developing gender equitable leadership skills is absolutely key to advancing women in STEM. More importantly, I believe that raising awareness of women’s rights and values in general—and especially for women and female Ethnic Minority students—is one of the best ways to promote gender equality on campus.

I am pleased to have established the first ever Women’s Club for female students in the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Technology, at the Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry. As the proud founder of this group, I promoted and encouraged more female students to study and accompany in the fields of science-technology in agriculture in particular and the STEM network in general. My efforts in this area and initial achievement of the club are already being recognised more widely with an invitation to share at a regional women’s leadership Forum of Lower Mekong Institute in Cambodia in 2019.
