Gender Equality and Gender-Based Violence Prevention Training in Đồng Thịnh commune and Định Biên commune, Định Hóa district, Thái Nguyên province

Following the success of the training program in Ôn Lương commune and Yên Đổ commune, Phú Lương district, Thái Nguyên province, on November 8, 2023, FEMMA, in collaboration with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Thái Nguyên province, continued to organize a training program on gender equality and prevention and response to gender-based violence (GBV) for participants who were local residents in Đồng Thịnh commune and Định Biên commune, Định Hóa district, Thái Nguyên province.

The program focused on two main issues: gender equality and integrating gender perspectives in the construction of the new rural development phase for 2021-2025, as well as prevention and response to gender-based violence. During the training, Dr. Bùi Thị Hương Giang, Director of FEMMA, continued to convey basic concepts of GBV, its causes and consequences, common perceptions of GBV, the legal framework related to GBV in Vietnam, and some preventive and responsive measures. The participants were also able to identify different forms of GBV and develop an understanding of their shared responsibility in preventing and combating GBV to build a more civilized society.
