Training on Gender Equality and Gender-Based Violence Prevention in On Luong commune and Yen Do commune, Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province

On November 2, 2023, FEMMA, in collaboration with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Thái Nguyên province, organized a training program on gender equality and gender-based violence prevention (GBV) for participants who were local residents in On Luong and Yen Do commune, Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province.

The program focused on two main issues: gender equality and gender mainstreaming in the construction of the new rural development program, period 2021-2025, as well as gender-based violence prevention. Dr. Bui Thi Huong Giang, Director of FEMMA, delivered basic concepts of GBV, its causes and consequences, common perceptions of GBV, the legal framework related to GBV in Vietnam, and some preventive and responsive measures. The participants were also able to identify different forms of GBV and develop an understanding of their shared responsibility in preventing and combating GBV to build a more civilized society.
