FEMMA organized a seminar to share project outcomes and report the action plan of the participants

Within the framework of the project “Enhancing the capacity and skills of social organizations in the Northern mountainous region on gender equality and gender mainstreaming in local Targeted Programs,” on January 18, 2024, in Na Rieng hamlet, Bac Quynh commune, Bac Son district, Lang Son province, Females from Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas Research and Development Center  (FEMMA) – Thai Nguyen University, in collaboration with the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), organized a seminar on “Sharing project outcomes and reporting the action plan of the participants.”

The seminar was attended by Ms. Bui Thi Huong Giang – Director of FEMMA Center, Associate Professor Tran Van Dien – Senior Expert of FEMMA, representatives from Thai Nguyen University, department officials, and 30 participants from social organizations involved in the project.

In her opening speech, Ms. Bui Thi Huong Giang reported the results of the program implementation at the local level. The project “Enhancing the capacity and skills of social organizations in the Northern mountainous region on gender equality and gender mainstreaming in local Targeted Programs” was carried out from September 2023 to February 2024 with the aim of enhancing the capacity and skills of social organizations in the Northern mountainous region on gender equality and gender mainstreaming in local Targeted Programs, as well as guiding the implementation of action plans and establishing a network of social organizations in the Northern region. Over the course of 6 months, the program has brought about many positive changes, including one training course attracting 30 participants, supporting the development and implementation of 12 action plans, organizing one seminar to share outcomes and report the action plan of the participants, and an upcoming workshop to establish a network of social organizations in the Northern mountainous region.

During the one-day seminar, a significant amount of time was dedicated to listening to the 12 action plan reports from the participant groups, which were the results of the training course under the guidance of FEMMA experts. The action plans focused on addressing urgent issues in the localities where the social organizations are based, thereby contributing to enhancing the role of social organizations and successfully achieving the objectives of the local Targeted Programs.
